Ryanair operates a two-tier cabin bag policy:

Free personal item (under seat only):
Maximum size: 40×25×20cm. This must fit under the seat in front of you. No exceptions.

Priority cabin bag (overhead locker):
Maximum size: 55×40×20cm. This is only available if you have Priority boarding — either purchased separately or included with your fare. Without Priority, your bag goes in the hold.

Weight limit: Ryanair does not publish a specific weight limit for cabin bags, but bags must be lifted into the overhead locker unaided.

easyJet Cabin Bag Rules 2026

easyJet's policy is more generous:

Free cabin bag (overhead locker):
Maximum size: 56×45×25cm. All passengers can bring one cabin bag into the overhead locker for free.

Free personal item (under seat):
Maximum size: 45×36×20cm. One additional small bag under the seat.

Weight limit: No published weight limit for cabin bags on easyJet.

The good news: easyJet's allowance is one of the most generous of any budget airline — most standard 20-inch cabin suitcases fit comfortably.
