Ryanair Luggage 2026 — Sizes, Weight & What to Buy

Ryanair baggage allowance explained

Ryanair's baggage rules depend on the allowance attached to your booking. Check the airline's latest information before travelling and match your bag to the correct size.

Free personal bag: one bag up to 40 × 30 × 20cm that must fit under the seat in front.

Priority & 2 Cabin Bags: the free personal bag plus one additional overhead bag up to 55 × 40 × 20cm and 10kg, when included with or added to your booking.

Checked-bag options: Ryanair lists 10kg, 20kg and 23kg check-in bags. Check your booking for which options you have purchased and the number of bags permitted. Without an overhead-bag entitlement, do not assume you can put a larger case in the overhead locker.

Cases to compare with Priority overhead baggage

KONO K1997L 20-inch PP case

The KONO K1997L Black case is listed at 55 × 40 × 20cm and 2.64kg empty, with a polypropylene shell and four swivel wheels. Its stated dimensions match the Priority overhead-bag limit, not the smaller free personal-bag limit. Measure the full bag including handles and wheels, weigh it packed, and confirm Priority & 2 Cabin Bags on your booking. Dimensional comparison is not airline approval.

British Traveller K2397L 20-inch softshell case

The British Traveller K2397L Black case is listed at 50 × 40 × 20cm, with a compartment for laptops up to 15.6 inches and a combination lock. Its listed size is within the Priority overhead dimensions, but it is too large for the free personal-bag limit. Check packed dimensions, weight and current product details. The listing does not establish that this 20-inch version expands.

KONO KSK2596 16-inch case

The KONO KSK2596 Grey case is listed at 45 × 36 × 20cm and 2kg empty. Despite its “under-seat” product name, it exceeds Ryanair's 40 × 30 × 20cm free personal-bag dimensions. Its stated size is within the larger Priority overhead dimensions, subject to the allowance on your booking and packed weight.

Avoid baggage surprises

• Check your booking confirmation for the bag entitlement you actually have.
• Compare the bag's full external size, including wheels and handles, with the relevant allowance, not just an inch-size label.
• Weigh bags after packing and check the airline's latest restricted-item rules.
• If you need more space, compare the checked-bag options and current prices before travel.
