Luggage Sets UK 2026: A Buyer's Guide

🚚 Free UK delivery over £50

Would a luggage set help you travel from the UK with the right bag for different trips? A set gives you a choice of sizes, but it is worth checking each piece, its price and your baggage allowance before you buy. Matching cases are not automatically cheaper or permitted on every flight.

What to compare in a luggage set

  • Each case's full external dimensions: a '20-inch' label does not guarantee an airline will accept it as a cabin bag.
  • Empty and packed weights: the cases in a set can weigh very different amounts. Check your booking's weight limit for each bag.
  • Materials and layout: hardshell and softshell sets offer different shapes and pockets; neither guarantees superior protection.
  • Wheels, handles and locks: inspect the features of the particular model, not just the brand.
  • Expanded dimensions: an expansion zip can increase depth beyond an airline limit.
  • Current value: compare the live set price with the current prices of the individual cases if price matters to you.

Before choosing a set, check your booking confirmation and the airline's latest baggage rules. Measure each case including wheels and handles, and weigh it when packed. Check connecting airlines too.

Our selection: KONO and British Traveller

KONO hardshell sets

KONO offers sets in a range of sizes and shell materials. Compare each set's material, locks and dimensions on the current product listings; don't assume every KONO set is made from the same material.

British Traveller KSB2582 three-piece softshell set

The KSB2582 Black three-piece set is listed with a polyester outer and lining, spinner wheels, a TSA-compatible lock and 20-, 24- and 28-inch cases. The listed external dimensions and empty weights are 57.5 × 37.5 × 25.5cm, 3.35kg for the 20-inch case; 68.5 × 44 × 28.5cm, 3.96kg for the 24-inch case; and 79.5 × 49 × 32.5cm, 4.6kg for the 28-inch case. Its product description says the 24- and 28-inch cases can expand by up to 3cm. Check your booking before treating the 20-inch case as cabin baggage; its size label is not airline approval.

Hardshell or softshell?

Hardshell cases have a structured exterior; softshell cases can offer different pocket layouts and flexibility. Neither type is always lighter, tougher or more suitable for checked baggage. Compare the specific cases, their empty weight and their features instead of assuming one material wins for every trip.

Are sets worth buying?

A set can be useful when you need several sizes over time or for different people. It may not be worth buying extra cases you will not use. Compare today's set price with the individual cases you actually need rather than assuming a fixed saving. Even matching cases can have different materials or expansion features within a range; check the specific listing.
