Cabin Bags for Jet2, easyJet & British Airways: UK Size Guide

Which cabin bag should you consider for a UK flight on Jet2, easyJet or British Airways? First check which bag is included in your booking, then compare the full external dimensions and packed weight of a case with the airline's current rules. A 'cabin-size' label alone is not airline approval.

Before choosing or packing luggage, check your booking confirmation and the operating airline's latest baggage guidance. Measure the bag including wheels and handles, weigh it when packed and check any connecting airline separately.

easyJet cabin bags

easyJet allows one free small bag up to 45 × 36 × 20cm and 15kg, including handles and wheels. It must fit beneath the seat in front and you must be able to lift and carry it yourself. A large cabin bag is a separate allowance, up to 56 × 45 × 25cm and 15kg, for customers who book one or have an applicable fare or membership benefit. It belongs in the overhead locker. An automatically allocated Up Front or Extra Legroom seat does not itself grant the larger bag, so check the allowance shown in your booking.

If you plan to use only the free allowance, look for a product whose filled dimensions fit under the seat. A foldable bag is not guaranteed to fit just because it can be compressed when empty.

British Airways cabin bags

For British Airways, BA Cityflyer and BA Euroflyer, the allowance includes one hand bag up to 40 × 30 × 15cm that fits beneath the seat and is guaranteed in the cabin, plus one cabin bag up to 56 × 45 × 25cm including wheels and handles. You must be able to lift the cabin bag into the overhead compartment unassisted unless an accessibility arrangement applies. The larger cabin bag may need to go in the hold, so keep essential medicines, electronics and valuables in the under-seat hand bag. Partner-airline rules may differ.

Jet2 cabin bags

On Jet2.com flights, passengers other than infants have one hand-luggage bag up to 56 × 45 × 25cm and 10kg included, plus one under-seat bag up to 40 × 30 × 20cm. Dimensions include wheels and handles. On busy flights Jet2 may place the main hand-luggage bag in the hold; check the terms of Guaranteed Cabin Luggage if keeping it nearby matters to you.

Cases to compare with your booking

The KONO K1997L 20-inch PP case is listed at 55 × 40 × 20cm and an empty weight of 2.64kg in Black. The British Traveller 20-inch softshell case is listed at 50 × 40 × 20cm and 2.58kg in Black. Compare either case with the larger cabin-bag allowance you have actually booked; neither fits the smaller free easyJet under-seat dimensions.
